Going on about gouache
Gouache is an opaque watercolor paint. It offers the same fluidity as
transparent watercolors, or ink but since gouache is opaque, the
colors it creates are usually bolder and more saturated than those
found in traditional watercolors or ink drawings. Artists tend to use
gouache when they want to create a precise but fluid drawing with
strong, undiluted color. Many use it in combination with other media
(such as watercolor and graphite) to block out areas of color and lend
a graphic quality to the work.
