Emerging Artists from the Northwest
Regional styles are an endangered species. Today's artists are
instantly informed about emerging mega-trends throughout the art world,
from coast to coast and continent to continent. As a result of the
growing globalization of the art world, artists tend to be less tied
to smaller, local art movements. But there are exceptions. The Pacific
Northwest (particularly Seattle) has produced many young artists who
seem to share a sensibility particular to that region; painterly
organic abstraction. The works below from the NextMonet catalog show
recent work produced by Northwestern artists.
